Is Destiny Real

Ephesians 1:4-5 “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love5 he[a] predestined us for adoption to sonship, through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will"

There’s this Big question out there, people ask “if God knows the end of us all, then we don’t need to stress ourselves or if God doesn’t know the end, then how is He God ?”. One thing we must first understand is that God has an Holistic and Individualistic view to mankind, that is why it was enough that one Man Adam can cause the whole of Mankind to fall and one Man Jesus Christ can save us all. God knows his purpose for Mankind and nothing can change that. The scripture says in Isaiah 46:10 “I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.”

So does God have a Destiny for Mankind ? The answer from what we just read is Yes. How about you and I individually ? This is where the choice factor comes in, because God has created us as beings of Will and Choice, and we can act opposite to his will and destiny doesn’t invalidate that He has a destiny for us. There are things God expects us to do and certain choices He expects us to make. So therefore He has a destiny for you and I, Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” God has a plan for us and that plan is mainly to align with His destiny for all of Mankind: To unite us to himself.

While so many people like to obsess about individual destiny, this might be the wrong approach, our approach to destiny as a believer must be from the Holistic perspective. Our opinion on destiny must not be more on things like careers, finance and family, unbelievers have these things too. These things are just part of the way we play our role in the grand scheme of things. we should see our lives and achievements as a contribution to the Grand plan of God for Mankind

No man’s destiny is unique only our roles are. As believers our eyes must be on the big picture, to please God with all that we are. Revelations 4:11 says “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are, and were created.”

We must see the big picture always and allow the HolySpirit lead us into the Predestination of God for us as believers.
